Singapore is officially known as the ‘Lion City’.  Republic of Singapore got internally self governess in 1959 and became independent nation of South East Asia. Singapore is not only famous for shopping and eating, you can also get a taste of a variety of things like water sports, cycling, arts, drama, parks, museums, zoos, hotels and much more. 


Republic of Singapore is an independent state on the southern tip of Malaya Peninsula. Singapore is an island of 646 sq km which about the size of Chicago. Singapore's strategic position has helped it grow into a major center for trade and became a major international transportation center of Asia.  Singapore port is the world’s second busiest port in term of transportation and refueling.


Singapore has seen many races and cultures as people from different religions like Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and many more smaller religions have stayed and lived in Singapore since a long time.


Dining and shopping is the favorite time pass and hobby in Singapore even though the climate is hot and wet. Rainfall and humidity is there throughout the year.

Little India

Little India is a large center of Indian community in Singapore. It is most charming and photographers paradise area in Singapore. This little town is a primary attraction to its visitors where you will find the gaily painted shop houses that are icon of Singapore.


Singapore Zoo & Night Safari & Jurong Birdpark

Singapore Zoo also known as Singapore Zoological Garden was opened in the year 1973 with $9 million granted by the Singapore government. It is operated by Wildlife Reserves of Singapore who also manages the Night Safari and Jurong Birdpark.


There is a lot to see in here and would be a best place for children’s and photographers. So if you are in Singapore with your family then you not be missing the Singapore Zoo visit as it gives to see numerous animals and birds living in their natural habitat.

Esplanade

The Esplanade is a waterfront location at the mouth of Singapore River in downtown Singapore. Today Esplanade is the exclusive home to highly respected Singapore Symphony Orchestra but also center stage of music, dance and theater.


River Merlion

The Merlion is mythical creature bearing a lion’s head and body of fish. The lions head symbolizes the ‘Lion City’ and the fish symbolizes the ancient Temasek or ‘Sea Town’, it is also used as a mascot in Singapore.


Chinese Heritage Museum

Chinese Heritage Museum is located in the center of China Town in Singapore. China Heritage Museum has five floors include a Chinatown Visitor Center  a Dragon Gallery displaying three generations of Chinese dragons, the "Finding Gold" below-ground experience, and Australia’s 200-year Chinese history told through artifacts as well as the story of recent arrivals from all parts of the Asia Pacific region since the 1950s.


Island of Pulau Ubin

Pulau Ubin Island is home of about 200 inhabitants and situated on north east of Singapore which is 10 minutes bumboat away from mainland. A first-time visitor to Pulau Ubin will feel as if he has just stepped back 30 years in time. This contrast is best felt after spending some time on the urban mainland already.

Sky Park

Amazing and awesome structure built in the sky and true to its name ‘The Sky Park’. Sky Park is build in the Marina Bay Sands and is longer than the Eiffel Tower making it the largest cantilevered public space in the world.


Marina Bay Sands is a famous tourist and gambler spot among its visitors. Sky Park has the world largest elevated swimming pool and there are restaurants, nightclubs and gardens.


Marina Barrage

The latest Singapore icon built on the mouth of the Marina Channel. The Marina Barrage is part of a flood control scheme to ease flooding in the low-lying areas in the city such as Chinatown, Boat Quay, Jalan Besar and Geylang.

Things to do in Kuwait


Kuwait is located northeast of Saudi Arab and south of Iraq. It is slightly larger than Hawaii but it is believed that Kuwait floats on oil rather than water.

The discovery of oil was done in 1938 which drew many Arabs to the nearby states. Kuwait is a low lying desert land mainly barren and sandy. 90% of the population lives within 500 square kms area surrounding Kuwait City. Summers are very hot from April to September but not very humid like the other neighbouring states. Air conditioning facilities are good to give your cool experience during your summer visit.

Alcohol and pork are not legal and may not be allowed to be imported within country. Kuwait has a good transportation system and all signs are mentioned in English and Arabic.

City Attractions: 

Liberation Tower
Liberation Tower is the second largest tower in Kuwait. It was named as Liberation Tower after liberation from Iraq in the year 1991.  Ministry of communication that provides governmental services also includes branches of telecom and internet services next to Liberation Tower.
This tower contains a revolving restaurant and observation platform through which you can view the whole city.

The Scientific Center
The scientific center contains 3 sections, The Aquarium, Discovery Place and IMAX Theater.

The Aquarium is a home for more than 100 different spices and is the largest aquarium in the Middle East. It also has visual representation of Kuwait desert, sea and the coastal wildlife and marine life. It was constructed to demonstrate Kuwait’s advancement and place in modern world and also its role in saving/ protecting the environment.

Ice Skating Rink
Beautiful and amazing example of sports facility and first of its kind in Gulf and Middle East established in the year 1980. An Olympic-size rink which is 1,800 m² of ice and an arena that accommodates up to 1,600 viewers that does not include an addition of a VIP balcony. A shoe-changing area, a skating equipment store, a first aid facility and a cafeteria that serve light snacks, pastries and a wide.

‘Kuwait Falcons’ the national ice hockey team was established in Kuwait in 1981.

Tareq Rajab Museum
This museum was the brain child of Tareq Sayed Rajab and his wife Jehan Welborne.  They have collected these things since 50’s. They also have a second museum right around the corner from it.

This museum has more than 30 thousand articles and out of which 10 thousand are on display for public. Museum is divided into 2 parts A and B. Part A is where you will find calligraphy, manuscripts, miniatures, ceramics, metalwork, glass, jade, wood and stone-carvings. In the Area B you will find costumes, textiles, jewellery and musical instruments that were used in the Islamic world during the last 250 years.

Kuwait National Museum
Museum was originally house of Sheikh Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.  Located in Kuwait city between Seif Palace and the National Assembly. The Museum was a collection of Al Sabah of Islamic Art, one of the most comprehensive and exclusive in the world.
The museum was planned by Michel Ecohard in the year 1980 and opened in the year 1986.


Kuwait Towers
Kuwait Tower is located at Arabian Gulf Road which symbolizes Kuwait’s progress and economic growth as well as a cultural and tourist landmark.
The viewing sphere located at the top of the tower gives a panoramic view of the Kuwait City. The Viewing Sphere’s revolving platform offers an empowering city view.

Sadu House
An artistic house located near Kuwait National Museum established in the year 1980. It was started with an intension to preserve handmade culture of Bedouins people.  The Bedouins lived a life governed by the rhythm of the seasons. A traditional craft of major importance was Sadu weaving, characterized by geometric designs woven by hand with dyed, spun and colored wool.

Zoological Gardens of Kuwait
Zoological Garden of Kuwait was the preservation, education, propagation and research center in Kuwait.  It is not only famous for rare animals but also endangered native Kuwaiti species are bred here.
Children’s can enjoy camel, horse and donkey rides along with magic and electronic games.

Messila Beach
Messila Beach is the biggest sea shore in Kuwait. Beach consists of large pools, gardens, green space, walkways, barbecue area, water games for kids and the Messila Train. In addition to the restaurant, there are many cafes and chain of fast food joints.

Dallas World Aquarium


Dallas World Aquarium is an aquarium and zoo opened in the year 1992. Aquarium is popular for its tunnel which gives a view of underwater reef life. Dallas World Aquarium is a home of numerous fauna and flora from five continents, 14 and countries. It is divided into two parts Rain Forest and Aquarium.



A Rain forest is created where you can walk through seeing different animals like sloth, monkeys, birds, crocodiles, sharks, piranhas and many more. It’s worth going place with your family and kids which has different kinds of fishes from all around the world.


The Aquarium includes marine species from around the world. You can see sharks, stay rinks, jelly fish, coral and other sea animals from around the world. It is a home of different species of aquatic animals from different oceans, fresh water seas around the global.

Goregoan Beach of Mumbai


Goregoan is located about 30km north of central Mumbai. Goregaon is named after Mr Gore who was an old resident of Goregaon. After his death, his wife Mrinal Gore, is still working for providing drinking water for his area.

 
This place was originally known as Ghodegaon, which means horse for ‘Ghode’ and village for ‘Goan’ during the rule of Chatrapati Shivaji.
 

There are two trusts which are known as Gore trusts. The famous film studio – Filmstan, Film City, the shooting hub of the Indian film industry is situated in Goregaon (east).

Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus and has been since the 11th century AD. Nicosia lies in the centre of the island, which is rich in history and traced backed in Bronze Century. City consists of fifty churches and Royal Palace.

This represents Greek liberation from British Colonial powers with figures of 14 EOKA fighters being release from prison in 1959.
Monument was erected in 1973 as remembrance and control over British rule.

Ledra street old city
Traditional shopping street located between the medieval walls of the city.
You will find traditional jewelers and fabric designer shops with a mix blend of Middle East and European culture.

The Leventis Municipal Museum
This Museum has exhibits dating during 2300 BC and is very well maintained.
In fact it was awarded has the best museum in Europe.

National Struggle Museum
Museum has details and documents related to Cypriot Independence movement from 1955 -1959.

The Nicosia Municipal Theatre
Just opposite to Cyprus Museum is Nicosia Municipal Theatre. 1200 seated theater built in neo classical style has programmes and cultural event during the whole year.

The Tombs of the Kings



The Tombs of the Kings was the burial ground of pathetic aristocrats and high officials in the 300BC. As the name of this site goes, there is no evidence of any king or royalty buried.  This is located 2 kms north west of Paphos harbor towards Coral bay (New Paphos) in Cyprus.

  
The tombs are impressive and carved out very well on solid rock. There are 8 complexes and out of which 3, 4 and 8 are the best and explored the most. Archaeologists have excavated 18 burials from the Hellenistic period in this tomb, three of which had not been robbed due to collapsed material in front of them. Two of them contained an ointment container, a myrtle wreath of gold and fine Rhodian amphorae. In the third, a child had been buried in a terracotta pipe.


 This is the main tourist attraction in Paphos and getting there is very easy. The entrance is just off the main road and opposite to bus station. Entrance ticket is very cheap only 1.70 euro’s and it’s a worth visiting once.  Kindly travel in the early morning if possible or else it will be very hot and humid.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo



Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is Gunnies World Record holder for the ‘World’s Largest Acrylic Panel’. Dubai Aquariums holds more than 400 sharks and stink rays, it is a new home for more than 33,000 living animals (140 different Species).


Dubai Aquarium has the world largest viewing panel which is 32.8 meters wide and 8.3 meters high with 270-degree walk-through tunnel experience, Glass Bottom Boat Rides, Cage Snorkeling Experience. Dubai Aquarium is built inside the Dubai Mall which is the world’s largest mall with more than 600 retailers.


You can also have the experience and close encounter with aquatic animals in a snorkeling cage. Inside the Aquarium you will find sharks, stink rays, piranhas, sawfish, cat fish, otters, Penguins, jelly fish, lizards, snakes, shell fish, lobster, crocodiles, water rats, sea jellies and clown fish.

Things to do in Larnaca



Larnaca is called the Home of Agios Lazarus, the town’s first Bishop. who chose to live his second life there after Jesus raised him from the dead. A church is built in his name on the spot where he remains are said to be found.
Larnaca offer too many visitors their first taste to Cyprus as it is city with the main international airport. Salt lake which is opposite to the airport can be seen clearly with thousands of flamingoes migrating every year.
Larnaca has tremendous to offer to its visitors in form of cafes, restaurants, beach, marina, clubs, pubs and a treat to visit the Lefkara village.

Only 20minutes away from Larnaca International Airport is Oroklini Village. It is famous for its sandy beaches.

Saint Lazarus Church
Saint Lazarus church is 9th century church and belongs to Greek Orthodox Church.
The church was built by Emperor Leo VI in the 9th Century. 
Church was built in honor of Saint Lazarus and his relics are located inside.

Marina
The largest marina found in Cyprus. Larnaca Marina is found in the heart of the city with many restaurants, cafes, hotels and bars around it. A safe heaven to catch your breath after a long hard slog in the Red Sea.
Larnaca Marina is one of the cross roads of the circumnavigators, a gateway to the east and west world depending upon which way you are travelling too.

Lefkara Village
This village is known for its lace and silver handicraft.
You will find women sitting outside on the narrow lane and working on fine embroidery, which has been done for several years in similar fashion.

Promenade
Promenade is the best place in Larnaca which has lot of cafes and restaurants on its side.
Pleasant walk in the evening along with street shopping and games are available at Promenade.
You will have an experience of beach walking where marina and a museum is located at its opposite ends.

Larnaca Museum
This former British prison later converted in to a museum with treasures from Bronze Age.

Mosque - Hala Sultan Tekke
This mosque is the 4th important mosque for the Muslims as the Hala Sultan the aunt of Prophet Mohammed died here.
 The beautiful mosque is built on her grave overlooking the salt lake.
Lot of pilgrims around the world visits this place during the whole year.

Salt Lake
The main attraction of Larnaca is Salt Lake where nearly 80 species of migratory birds comes down with 80,000 flamingos visiting every year from Jan to Feb. Near the Salt Lake is the holy mosque of Hala Sultan Tekke.

Wreck of Zinobia
The Zinobia was a Swedish Cargo ferry which sank on June 1980 in Larnaca Bay.

Camel Park
Just 15 minutes from Larnaca, Camel Park is located at Mazotos.
Beautiful place for adults were they can sit and relax. Children’s can learn about nature and animals.

Balphakram National Park



Balphakram National Park is situated near Caro hills in Meghalaya above 300 meters above sea level below the ancient granite Balphakram plateau. Meghalaya is a north eastern state of India which has Assam in the north and Bangladesh in the south. One third of the state is covered under forest and Balphakram National Park covers an area of 220 sq km which was established in 1987.

Balphakram National Park in Meghalaya is popularly known as "abode of perpetual winds" and also the "land of spirits". Balphakram National park is a famous park and home of wide species of plants and animals. You need to visit at least once and witness the charming beauty and various species of flora and fauna.

This park is also a great source for rare and valuable herbs like dike muni, which are medical herbs and rarely found. It is full of sprawling vegetation consisting of sub tropical and deciduous trees. In the southern part of the park is a belt of limestone. This area is very rich in minerals- especially coal, limestone and mica.

Coral Island of Pattaya



Coral Island (Koh Larn) is only 45 minutes away from Pattaya city. You can relax, sun bath, swim, snorkel, parasailing, Jet Ski and banana boat. Pattaya is about 2 hours away from Bangkok city.



 


Coral Island which covers an area of 4 kms is covered with corals and aquatic animals. Coral Island is very famous in Thai and with foreign visitors for its clear water, sandy beaches and extensive coral.
